At TrustEd we have a strong track record of developing teachers to become leaders at all levels, within their schools, across our trust and externally. We work closely with headteachers to recognise staff talent and expertise in our schools. We know that this does not happen by accident and that staff need the right conditions to grow, develop and be ready to take on more responsibility.
As a trust, we encourage staff to complete National Professional Qualifications so that they not only develop personally but they can have a positive impact by applying what they learn back in school.
Through the apprenticeship levy we can provide the opportunity for staff to complete a master’s in education leadership through the University of Birmingham. Take-up of this opportunity has been positive with successful outcomes for those who have completed the qualification.
There are also specific networks that are aimed at our trust heads of school and deputy headteachers. These networks provide the opportunity to share good practice across the trust but also to visit other schools and learn from what is happening in places outside of our trust, in the local area and more widely across the West Midlands.
